Mud has always been one of my favorite photographic subjects, as it lends itself to mesmerizing abstract photography. Whether the mud was just deposited or if it's dried out on a playa, the repeating patterns, textures, colors, and lines continually draw my eye into their details. Most of the images in this gallery are from Death Valley National Park, and they share the stories of erosion and floods from the desert floor.
