Autumn in the American West is a spectacular sight to witness. Hillsides of aspen trees transform into their autumn colors of gold, red, and orange, all complete with a Rocky Mountain backdrop. Cottonwood trees in the desert turn a vibrant yellow, adding gorgeous color contrast to the reds in the towering sandstone cliffs. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons to photograph out west because there are so many opportunities to shoot different types of scenes. In this gallery, you'll find smaller scenes mixed with grander landscapes, all showcasing the colors of autumn in Colorado and Utah.
